As golf is an expensive game, many golfers are on the lookout for cheap golf accessories. After you have invested in golf clubs and golf balls you might want to save some money by checking out some cheap golf accessories.

If you are a seasoned golfer, you probably have all the golf equipment that you need but there are always some new golf accessories that you want. For the beginner that is just starting out and has already bought their golf clubs and balls, it can be quite daunting when they realize that there are several items of golf accessories that they need to buy.

The best thing you can do is look for cheap golf accessories online. The online golf stores generally have a very large choice of golf accessories and they can offer them at lower prices because they don’t have the same expenses as the off line golf stores. The first thing that you have to take into consideration is what golf accessories you need to get started.

Golf accessories are usually considered to be every item of golf equipment except the clubs, balls, and shoes. Some online golf stores will have separate categories for golf bags and golf apparel, but others will lump them together with the rest of the golf accessories.

Assuming that you bought a full set of clubs, then you will probably have received a golf bag as part of the deal. On the other hand, if you don’t have a golf bag then that will be the first golf accessory on your list. The choice of golf bags at online stores can be overwhelming but you have to decide on the type of golf bag that you want first.

Golf bag types include the carry golf bag and the stand golf bag - both bags are designed to be carried on your shoulder with the difference being that the stand bag has a fold out stand to stand it upright that keeps the bag from getting dirty or wet. Another type is the cart bag which has the benefit that it is somewhat larger and can so fit more gear inside - they are made to be put on a push cart or an electric cart. Lastly, there are staff or tour golf bags which are considerably much larger and heavier but are normally only carried by caddies for the touring pros.

Obviously, if you choose a cart bag, you will then need a golf cart. The majority of golfers won’t need an electric cart as they are a lot more expensive and you have to always make sure that the battery is fully charged up before playing a round of golf. If you like walking and are fit enough, then a push cart is the best option for the price. Nowadays, these push carts are extremely lightweight, robust, maneuverable, and they fold up to a small size to fit in any car.

The rest of the items that are needed are small cheap golf accessories; some golf tees, a golf glove, golf ball markers, and a divot tool. These golf accessories are thankfully quite cheap and can be found at all online golf stores. The other items that will be necessary if it rains a lot where you play golf are a golf towel and a golf umbrella.

If you are just starting out to play golf, you can do without special golf apparel; just make sure that the clothes you use conform to the dress code of the golf club and that they are comfortable for golfing. Remember, to save money, look for cheap golf accessories online.

IRS Reacts To Higher Gas Prices The IRS is an agency that has a reputation that is somewhere between Attila the Hun and baby seal hunters. While deserved, the agency actually is very responsive to current events that impact taxpayers. This includes the increase in gas prices. Under the tax code, many taxpayers can deduct mileage accrued for business purposes. The deduction is represented as a numerical figure per miles. A taxpayer simply multiplies their total business mileage by this figure to get their deduction for the year. There are many factors that go into the business mileage deduction. They include vehicle depreciation, insurance and other variable costs. One of these is, obviously, the cost of fuel to get around. The IRS sets the numerical figure that can be used for the tax deduction at the beginning of each year. For 2008, the figure declared was 50.5 cents a business mile. If you drive 1,000 miles in 2008 for business, you would be able to deduct $505.00. Every so often something happens that makes the IRS review the business mileage deduction. A classic case was Hurricane Katrina. Damage to refineries results in a jump in gas prices. The IRS reacted by raising the business mileage deduction. As you well know, 2008 has been a brutal year for gas price increases. In many parts of the country, we are closing in on five dollars a gallon for fuel. In 2005, the average cost was $2.30. Ah, for the good old days! To say that gas prices have spiked this year is a slight understatement. The IRS has recognized as much and is adjusting the business mileage deduction according. For miles incurred in the last six months of 2008, the deduction figure is now 58.5 cents. So, how do you calculate all of this? Well, it is actually pretty simple. Any business mileage you undertake from January 1 through June 30 is deductable using the 50.5 figure. Mileage after that is done at the 58.5 percent rate. Just add the two totals for your deduction. There are two other mileage deductions you may be aware of. If you must move because of a new job, you can deduct your mileage as well. That rate for 2008 was 19 cents a mile. It has been bumped for the final six months to 27 cents. The tax code also contains a provision for taxpayers to deduct mileage incurred while helping a charity. The rate for 2008 is 14 cents a mile. This IRS does not have discretion to change this rate, so it has not been adjusted. It is unclear if Congress will act on it. The spike in gas prices is certain having an effect on everyone. The new deduction figures set by the IRS aren’t the answer to high prices, but at least the higher deductions will help take some of the bite out of the cost when tax time comes. »
